Beth is the Books Product Director for The Coding Institute, where she oversees coding manuals publications, including code books and handbooks on coding, billing, and reimbursement, as well as books on soft skills like customer service and interviewing preparation. Beth previously worked as the Senior Content Manager for SuperCoder.com where she oversaw writing lay terms and coding and billing tips for thousands of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM codes. Beth currently manages a group of talented writers and editors who create and edit books, educational presentations, and marketing content. Beth is the author of Medical Coding: A Journey, a textbook from Pearson Prentice-Hall that teaches all facets of medical coding to beginners. She has worked as a billing and coding instructor for over 10 years for a post-secondary school, teaching courses in beginning, intermediate, and advanced medical coding, as well as medical office administration, revenue cycle processes, reimbursement methodologies, patient relations, and career development. Beth has presented at national coding conferences and previously worked as a patient accounting, chart auditing, and customer service manager for almost a decade for large hospital systems and physician groups. Beth has a BS degree in English/Writing and has been a certified outpatient coder for over 10 years.
